More Bus Crowding

There were four bikes on the bus coming in to Rochester this morning. Two in Newark & two more got on in Macedon. I guess I’ll ride out to Macedon to pick it up tonight to increase my chances of getting a spot. I don’t think that they can fit more than four, though the afternoon bus driver has told me that he’d let me put the bike inside the door at least for a little way. So hopefully there will be room & if not, hopefully the cool bus driver will be working tonight.

Rocbike.com had a nice post about my bus route called Bike Meets Bus a few days ago. I definitely encourage people to try multi-modal commuting but try it on someone else’s route. We’re running out of space. Ok. I guess I can’t be territorial about public transportation. It is public after all. I’ve got a really nice system working for me though.

I kind of thought by now there would be a lot fewer cyclists. It’s dark dark dark and cold cold cold in the morning. It’s still pretty nice in the afternoon. I suppose other folks who might have ridden in are avoiding the dark & the cold by taking the bus. Maybe they’ll bike all the way home so I won’t have to do the whole 33 miles. Not that I wouldn’t enjoy it but I would enjoy it more on a non-work day.
